Information about "Studentenwerksbeitrag" and "Semesterticket"

The Studentenwerks cover their costs primarily from their own revenues and from the public funds. Apart from that the students have to contribute to the budget of the Studentenwerk, thus bearing a part of the costs of the services provided to them themselves.

The contribution the students of all Bavarian public universities and colleges have to pay to the particular Studentenwerksbeitrag is fixed at the amount of 42,-. In addition to this fee, students in Augsburg also have to pay 48,40 € for the semester public transit pass (see Services/Public Transit Pass) . The semester fees in Augsburg thus total to 90,40 € in Augsburg, in Kempten 42,00 € in Neu-Ulm 62,00 € beside the tuition fees of each university.

These fees have to be paid by all students, including students taking a leave of absence. Guest students are exempted from this regulation. Students enrolled at more universities and falling under the scope of responsibility of more than one Studentenwerk pay the fee only to the Studentenwerk responsible for the university of first enrollment.

The enrollment at a university may be withheld when the student is not able to submit a proof of payment of the Studentenwerk fee and semester public transit pass.
